The Art of Paolo Salazar
Artist Statement
Desire has the power to form how we perceive our surroundings and how we act in our environment. Desire is a longing or craving for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment. It can motivate us to drive ourselves to accomplish our inner ambitions and dreams. It can morph into fear and may create stereotypical behavior. It is what makes us crazy and infatuated. It causes us to admire, aspire, become eager, lustful, greedy, or even to love. My current work is an exploration into desire; where desire comes from and how it originates, and further into the realm of its consequences. My art is my investigation into how desire frees us and how desire imprisons us.
